BHT and HTW Berlin Receive the Right to Award Doctorates

Team picture at gaining of the right to award doctorates

20.08.2025

In August 2025, the Berlin Senate gave BHT and HTW Berlin the right to award doctorates, the first universities of applied sciences in Berlin to receive it. Together, the two universities founded the Graduate Research Center for Machine Learning, Robotics, Life Sciences, and Interactive Systems. All principal investigators of Appl-FM are members and can supervise doctorates, so doctoral researchers can now complete their degree entirely at BHT or HTW Berlin.
